A slower kind of help.
I built Do Something Human because the internet forgot about people.
Open the news — it's war, America, drama, and whatever just went wrong today. Open the feeds — it's outrage, ads, and strangers performing a life. There's almost no humanity in either. No happiness. No one quietly helping anyone.
So this is the opposite of that. A small, honest place where a stranger's three dollars turns into a meal, a night inside, a small lift for someone who needs it. No foundation. No board. No quarterly report. Just pins, a pot, and a receipt you can read.
If you want to talk, send a message on Instagram.
The internet is fast, loud, and forgettable. This is the opposite of that.
Place a pin. Three dollars. Write a small human moment — something kind, something honest, something small enough to have actually happened.
Every pin is tagged with what it's about: connection, presence, courage, rest. Every week the pot is donated — to a cause, or to an individual — matched to what the pins that week were asking for. We post the receipt.
The pins fade from the map after three days and move to an archive you can read forever. No ads. No feeds. No streaks. Just a slower kind of help.
What $3 does
$3 doesn't solve homelessness. It won't end a war. It can't bring anyone back. It's small and that's the point. Small is honest. Small adds up. Small gets delivered this week, not next quarter by a department of twelve people.
How the week works
- You place a pin. $3. A small message. A tag — what this moment is about.
- The pin lives on the map for three days. Strangers read it. Some connect a string.
- On Friday we count the pins. The country with the most pins that week sets the destination.
- The dominant cause tag sets the recipient — a homeless outreach, a community fridge, an elder, a kid.
- The pot is donated — to a cause, or to an individual. We post the receipt on Transparency.
- The pin moves to the Archive. It lives there forever.
What this isn't
- It's not a registered charity. You can't claim it on tax.
- It's not a company. There is no team page because there is no team to promote.
- It's not a feed. No algorithm, no streaks, no notifications.
- It's not trying to scale. Scale is not the point.
What it is
- A place on the internet where you can mark your spot on Earth.
- A paper trail of small human moments from every country we've reached.
- A weekly pot that gets donated — by pins, by cause, by the people on the map.
- Open to every pair of hands that wants to help.
